In need of a domain name?

In need of a domain name? I commend all techies worldwide because GODDAMN! Setting up my website(s) and preparing ads etc. by far, has been the most complex technical task I’ve had to complete. I see why such service can easily and advisably be paid for. Yes, a learning experience it was, and I am thankful I am able to comprehend and follow instructions effectively. Now as far as the new terminologies I’ve learned, I pat myself on the back and I am here to share it all. I’ve purchased 3 domains from 3 different WebHost; Ionos by 1 & 1, Webador, and Namecheap. All great for different purposes, however, I have a fave/recommendation; as we all do. Before choosing, consider my top;

 5 Things To Consider Before Choosing A Webhost For Your Domain.

  1. Be decisive and choose a domain name for your business. Unless you are willing to purchase several domains, be sure about it and let us keep the process going. I was scattered and all over the place resulting in spending more money than required.

2. Why are you creating a site and what services will you offer? Are you setting up a shop? Will you need apps/plug-ins like WooHoo for E-commerce? Or are you blogging? Brizy is a cool free plug-in that drag & drop front-end page builder to help you create pages lightning fast on WordPress.

3. How much design control do you want for your site? Do you want to easily access *SEO? Do you need regular access to your root directory or other advanced setting options like *DNS’s & *FTPs?

Plug-ins like *Yoast SEO help WordPress users (and others) optimize their search engines. I notice each WebHost has its own protocol for bettering your website’s SEO, although I have been working with WordPress lately, do not limit yourself to that I speak of.

*SEO is the process of taking steps to help a website or piece of content rank higher on Google

*The purpose of DNS is to translate a domain name into the appropriate IP address.

*The term file transfer protocol (FTP) refers to a process that involves the transfer of files between devices over a network.

4. *SSL hosting is something I learned is NOT included with every domain purchase. The “HTTPS://” is the SSL and I like to think of it in the sense of an ADT security service for my site. Host like Namecheap has great benefits and awesome compatibility with the infamous WordPress. However, the SSL was/is not included and there are options to purchase and pay annually or monthly. Whereas hosts like IONOS by 1 & 1 and Webador provided an SSL Certificate with the purchase of my domains.

*SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, a security protocol that creates an encrypted link between a web server and a web browser. Companies and organizations need to add SSL certificates to their websites to secure online transactions and keep customer information private and secure.

5. Is making money from your site high on your agenda? With monetizing platforms like GoogleAdsense, there are WebHost that makes this connection much easier and less time-consuming. That is, without pasting any ads.txt’s, unless you are Ms./Mr. Tech Savvy. On most occasions, I recommend the approach that is less time-consuming and just as effective if not more effective.

6. Consider and compare; There are 500+ WebHost providers.

Here are the 3 I’ve tried as well as the others I would have tried if I did more research prior to. If I could start again, I more or less would start with GODADDY.

START your domain with the link(s) below;

  1. IONOS BY 1 & 1
  2. WEBADOR
  3. NAMECHEAP
  4. GODADDY
  5. BLUEHOST
