PLEASE DO NOT EXCLUDE YOURSELF.

I plead, let us start off by ditching those bad habits of ours one at a time. Whether it’s biting your cuticles or interrupting people when they speak, there is something we all can leave behind. No need to look far, we all have them. If it’s not something you do discreetly, I am almost sure you’ve been told about it on an occasion or two. That thing that serves no purpose and maybe be hurting yourself and/or others in the long run.

Like biting your nails/cuticles, although trivial, it can have a bad effect on your health if it continues. For example; biting too far and breaking the skin, exposing it to bacteria, and getting infected thereafter. Why go through this as opposed to learning to deal with the urge differently?

How long has this been going on for it to be considered an unhealthy habit? Research varies, and says;

It can take anywhere from 18 to 254 days for a person to form a new habit and an average of 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic.

Why do we notice our habits to only continue them? Well, a habit is hard to give up, even so; it will require willpower. How bad do you want to put it to an end?

According to a recent survey in 2013, 2 of the top 10 bad habits people wish they could kick but just can’t:

  1. Smoking
  2. Swearing

I indulge in both, ordered differently; swearing is number one on my list. Yours may and can be diff, we are all unique. Let’s find something to substitute the moments right before the habit occurs, maybe it’ll help fight the urge.

Lets’s Goooo, I know we can!

This works in our favor as we grow and become the best version of ourselves. Getting rid of things that serve us no purpose. Some habits are worse than others, but let us worry about ourselves and the picking of the nose or the alcohol problem you may have.

We cannot help anyone without simply helping ourselves FIRST.
