I learned from watching Oprah Winfrey as she said “When you are arguing with a friend and they act like they can’t hear you because they are arguing so strongly back at you, they really can’t because of the way the brain is structured. So when you are in fear mode, anxiety mode, when you’re really amped up, both of you need to calm down take a walk, take a break, and come back.”

I agree 100 percent. On that same note…

To avoid saying things to later regret them, in the heat of the moment, yes; walk away and breathe. This means there is NO communication via text either. Know in some situations walking away and texting can help. At the severity I speak of, there is no form of communication that can come about without the wrong thing(s) being heard or said.

While texting, the tone of a message can be assumed. Based on what we know of the person, we usually have a set tone for them as we read their messages.

During such frustrations, questions can look like statements and regards can be read as insults. One’s feelings and the message(s) can be all over the place, therefore misconstrued — furthering the frustration.
