I WILL NOT MARRY THE JANITOR
What do I mean when I say Janitor/What does the janitor represent?
The janitorial occupation is more or less a mindset than a position. I tend to easily throw this label on those who know best for themselves, yet & still seek nothing better. It’s when going to a 9–5 has become your life story, and no efforts are put in place outside that time frame.
All optimism shot down the same well you tossed your dreams at.
Great ideas come and go, still you hold them with no value. About as valuable as a weekly check, or not? The janitor represents a minuscule picture, maybe smaller—the inability to adjust your lens to focus on one thing and capture it.
I do not speak of the janitor that creates more hours in a day. The one(s) that leave work with a plan to conquer the world even off the clock because there is NO off time. You know that it starts with YOU to make a difference, and it rarely will ever happen on anyone else’s time — at someone else’s establishment. You’re helping them accomplish their goals!
Not him, That type of janitor is exempt.
Damn if difficult isn’t difficult, that of which being with someone who does NOT see IT — lacks optimism or the ability/confidence to voice it. This type of partnership is not only exhausting, but it can be depressing as well. Energy can only be transferred, so no matter how spectacular your day is going — Debbie downer can make it easy to have a seat with misery. I wouldn’t like that occupation either if I knew my worth.
Everyone working collectively makes the world rotate more sufficiently. Therefore it is true, that we will always need janitorial work to be done, cashiers, food preparers, etc. Not everyone will be “famous”, and not everyone will make 6 figures or better in their lifetime. That too is ok, as long as it sits well with you. Whether it should or shouldn’t is a topic for another article.
Understanding everyone has a place in this world, that place does not necessarily have to be in your life. As we grow, we learn more about ourselves. When we do the work with what we have learned, we know what just won’t work out prior to a falling out.
It may be best to refrain from being too picky. We don’t want to skip over love.
But is it really for you if it was skipped?
Any how…
Some want a thick woman, and some like them slim.
Some want a 6-foot man or it is MANDATED he be “6” in everything else (6 figures, 6 inches)
Monogamous, polygamous, open, and casual relationships.
Others want whatever else they want!
And most want a combination of it all. We want our cake, and to eat it too.
Isn’t it my cake?
That’s cute, although I require more of my lifetime partner.
On top of all of the above, goals, aspirations, and dreams. Motive and drive. Grit and determination. A mission you mapped out with the confidence to make it happen and accomplish it, with NO contemporary feelings that last longer than 3 days. The discipline must be as phenomenal as you always have been.

That staggering 7.96 Billion People in this world — Let’s call it 8 Billion. With that said, why should you have to tolerate the values and morals of another that do not align with your own? Giving it a shot and communication is the best effective way to make it work or see if there is a possibility. Great things are worth fighting for when feelings have the potential to be mutual. So don’t fight for those who won’t fight for you.
Know that following your dreams will not mean she will come up with a multi-million dollar idea to mesh with yours. Nor does that mean he will quit his job in pursuit of your happiness while trying to locate his own.
THAT DUMB S%i$ DON’T WORK!
Research has shown that personal goals that are congruent with your interests increase your emotional well-being. This means that working on your goals makes you happy.
The Overall Takeaway?
The things I’ve learned over time about what I will and will not tolerate have drawn me to a conclusion. You must have something that keeps you interested in life in order for me to be/remain interested in you.
I am a woman passionate to motivate others to simply “be great every day”, and I could not call one who does anything less, my partner. Naturally motivated with a B- in DISCIPLINE, I cannot be inspired by those who aren’t taking a shot at being their best selves…I will NOT date the janitor.
