Staying productive is a job in itself. Hypothetically speaking, add your newborn baby, your spouse & then a four-legged companion to top that off. This requires the mental capacity the size of who knows what, and its required that of one person. Everyone has needs to be met, & you must meet them at the park “mom”. Oh, dreams & goals? Simply another “being” to tend to. It’s a tricky one because although you can take hiatuses, you can also return better than ever. Now with your baby, a spouse, and/or a pet, not quite…Postpartum thoughts.

One thing I found helpful in life, as well as in my journey of motherhood thus far is scheduling. Instead of just “going with the flow” I find that allocating my time, as far as what needs to be done, and when; greatly helps my days progress. Knowing what my priorities are, only drives me closer to my destination. Taking notes of how often my child naps, for how long, or even how long she stays awake; helps when creating my day-to-day schedule. Being precise with what it is that has to get done, making sure it has directly everything to do with the end goal will be effective, with a sense of accomplishment.

Then there’s tending to your partner, him/her & their needs/desires. Still show “love”. Understanding that because someone new has come into the picture, the feelings and emotions of your partner haven’t changed. That TLC is still required. God bless the “fathers” who understand & have leniency for “mom”. At some point, that part of the dynamic has to crank back up.

My dreams & goals. are. always. first, and since I’ve had my own little person to care for, my dreams and goals are now 2nd. With that being said, I have to take EXTRA care of the ones that love me most.

Still, pet the damn animal. Don’t shun your pet now; especially if they were there before the baby.

Tend to these things. I’m sure, no one can validly feel as if you’re placing them on the back burner/putting your dreams before them, even though you are. Don’t ever think It’s a bad thing; it’s not. The right one will always understand there is a goal to be met & encourage you to meet it.

Just SCHEDULE, SCHEDULE, & SCHEDULE, THEN ACTUALLY COMPLETE THE TASKS.

BE EFFECTIVE.

DAY IN AND DAY OUT.

BE GREAT EVERY DAY!
